Kerrykeel, Donegal – O’Donoghue intervenes in battle over phones mast. “A LAST-minute intervention by Minister for Justice John O’Donoghue prevented the installation of Esat Digifone mobile phone antennae in the north Donegal village of Kerrykeel yesterday. It followed a night of tension culminating in violent clashes between gardai in riot gear and local people when the crane arrived shortly after dawn. Five men, including a father and son, were arrested by gardai for breaches of the peace but were later released without charge.
