New Documentary on Wireless Risks, “5G: Friend or Foe?”
Film shines a light on ever-expanding public health
issue of significant global concern.

PRESS RELEASE
DENVER, CO May 20, 2024. Zipps media today released the documentary film,
5G: Friend or Foe?” for viewing online, free of charge. Directed and produced by
Christine Zipps, in collaboration with Scientific Advisor and Project Manager,
retired Professor Olle Johansson of the Karolinska Institute and the Royal Institute
of Technology in Sweden, the film aims to present the public and policymakers
with important factors for consideration related to the unchecked antenna
densification in our living environments without safety testing and the very
important new risks presented by the 5th generation cellular technology, or 5G.

Professor Johansson, Scientific Advisor and Project Manager, who is featured in
“5G: Friend or Foe?” along with a team of subject experts, says:

5G as well as 4G, 3G, etc., is very much about GREED and very little about
human NEED. Also, it is sold to everyone as being safe although the
manufacturers, operators, insurance, and reinsurance companies don’t
believe that themselves.”

Paul Heroux, PhD, Professor, McGill University Medicine, and Commissioner of the
International Commission on the Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields, who
is also featured in the film, says,

“I think that industry has created within the political sphere the impression
that this radiation is inoffensive and that we don’t need to worry about it. I
disagree with this entirely.”

In producing this film Zipps media seeks to raise awareness about the pros and
cons of the widespread expansion of artificial new electromagnetic fields. The film
features subject experts who guide viewers through many considerations of this
important societal issue, and raises the question

What type of world are we leaving our children?

With this documentary project, we have not been naive. We realize there is a lot more to consider such as other versions of wireless communication and other sources including radar, radio, and TV but for practical reasons we have used 5G as a model for discussion because 5G is on peoples’ minds. Its roll out is raising concerns all over the world, including how the non-stop exposure increases will impact our living environments.

EXTRACTS:

Abstract

The roles of perinatal development, intracellular calcium [Ca2+]i, and synaptogenesis disruption are not novel in the autism/ASD literature. The focus on six mechanisms controlling synaptogenesis, each regulated by [Ca2+]i, and each aberrant in ASDs is novel. The model presented here predicts that autism epidemic causation involves central roles of both electromagnetic fields (EMFs) and chemicals. EMFs act via voltage-gated calcium channel (VGCC) activation and [Ca2+]i elevation. A total of 15 autism-implicated chemical classes each act to produce [Ca2+]i elevation, 12 acting via NMDA receptor activation, and three acting via other mechanisms. The chronic nature of ASDs is explained via NO/ONOO(-) vicious cycle elevation and MeCP2 epigenetic dysfunction. Genetic causation often also involves [Ca2+]i elevation or other impacts on synaptogenesis. The literature examining each of these steps is systematically examined and found to be consistent with predictions. Approaches that may be sed for ASD prevention or treatment are discussed in connection with this special issue: The current situation and prospects for children with ASDs. Such approaches include EMF, chemical avoidance, and using nutrients and other agents to raise the levels of Nrf2. An enriched environment, vitamin D, magnesium, and omega-3s in fish oil may also be helpful.

Extracts from:

7. Discussion and Conclusions

….

Let us shift now to ASD treatment and prevention. These are presented here not to give medical advice, but rather to enlighten the reader in the central issues of this special issue: The current situation and prospects for children with ASDs. Both treatment and prevention require avoidance of electronically-generated EMFs and diverse chemicals, however difficult that may be. Let us start with EMFs. There are many sources of EMFs in our living spaces, workplaces, educational and recreational environments, and even outdoors. Many of these are discussed in Section 2.1.

There are “safety guidelines” initially proposed by ICNIRP, an organization set up by the industry and these ICNIRP safety guidelines have been adopted, sometimes with minor modifications, over much of the world. The ICNIRP and similar “safety guidelines” are all based on thermal effects produced over either a 6 min or 30 min period. However, as discussed above, biological effects are caused by electric forces or time-varying magnetic forces produced by electronically-generated EMFs, and are unrelated to thermal effect “safety guidelines”. It follows that all assurances of safety based on these “safety guidelines” have no scientific merit.

Pregnant women should not use cell phones, cordless phones, should avoid Wi-Fi fields, and should use wired connections to the internet, avoid Bluetooth, should not spend time near smart meters, cell phone towers, avoid high voltage powerlines, etc. Pregnant women should avoid being in buildings with high dirty electricity in their electric powerlines. Such avoidance is very challenging. A second choice is to use shielding to protect the fetus and the young baby after birth.

You can get large shielded T-shirts to protect the fetus, wearing a regular cloth T-shirt underneath to minimize body contact. Such shielding materials have large numbers of metal (often silver) fibers. I believe that shielding mostly acts by disrupting the coherence of the EMFs, therefore greatly lowering any electric or magnetic forces. Shielding has been extensively studied in the scientific literature [271,272,273,274,275,276,277]. For example, ref. [271] states that “By using wireless technologies, we increase the influence of the electromagnetic field on the human body. The basic measures for the protection against electromagnetic radiation are: (1) shielding of the radiation source, (2) shielding of the workplace, (3) personal protective equipment, (4) reduction of radiation in the immediate vicinity of the radiation source”. [271] goes on to discuss the shielding effects of both fabrics containing tiny metal fibers and also brick walls.

You can buy shielding paint of two different types to protect yourself in your house and, if you live in an apartment, this may be the only way to protect yourself from your neighbors’ EMFs. Shielding paint can be either graphite (black) paint which can be painted over with other colors. Other more pleasant colored shielding paint can be purchased containing tiny metallic particles. You can also buy open shielding cloth to put over windows, making them into lace like curtains to lower EMF exposures coming through the windows. Similar approaches can be used after birth to protect the young baby. It is highly desirable to purchase a good EMF meter to provide information and prevent the worst exposures throughout the perinatal period.

The materials mentioned here, along with many others, can be obtained from LessEMF, an organization with which I have no commercial relationship—I have no conflict of interest here.

Magnesium supplements, vitamin D, and folates are reported to be helpful for both prevention and treatment. Raising Nrf2 was discussed as a very promising approach to ASD therapy and possibly prevention, because raising the levels of the Nrf2 transcription factor produces increases in very wide-ranging antioxidant enzymes, and also lowers NF-kappaB and inflammation, improves mitochondrial function, and also detoxifies the body of diverse carbon-containing toxicants and toxic metals. There is much evidence that raising Nrf2 is useful in ASD treatment in animal models, as well as in prevention or amelioration, when Nrf2 is raised in pregnant animal models. The use of therapeutic agents that raise Nrf2 during pregnancy must, of course, be used with great care. There is a large body of safety literature on using nutritional agents that raise Nrf2 during human pregnancies, agents that produce lowering defects in the fetus [278,279,280,281,282,283,284,285,286,287]. Ref. [285] may be especially relevant to ASD causation, because it shows that raising Nrf2 in the pregnant mother can prevent disease in the offspring. However, [278] expresses concern about raising Nrf2 to higher levels possibly producing problems during pregnancy via reductive stress. I have searched for additional literature on human or animal pregnancy and reductive stress and the only additional paper I have found is a paper on reductive stress producing lowered fetal attachment—a time period very distant from the perinatal period, which is thought to be central to ASD causation.

Agents that raise AMPK may be useful as well, although those agents that raise AMPK via lowered energy metabolism should be used with caution, especially if they are to be used during pregnancy.

Other approaches to treatment include all of the things mentioned above for prevention, but also using approaches such as putting the person with an ASD in an enriched environment, or using cognitive behavioral therapy, both of which are reported to produce clinical improvement in humans. The Hong et al., 2020 [133] study of in utero cell phone radiation exposure to induce a long-lasting, possibly ASD-like condition in rats. These same ASD aged rats were still suffering from learning disability, as well as lowered expression of three genes needed for proper synaptic structure, and aberrant synaptic properties in the rat hippocampus. Putting those aged rats in an environmentally-enriched living space allowed them to recover much learning ability, while improving synapse properties and increasing expression of the three genes involved in determining synaptic structure. The improvements in learning are associated with large improvements in synaptic structure and function. This may not be the only approach toward retraining and restructuring synapses in ASDs.

I have not said anything about avoiding chemical exposures. The best way to avoid the pesticides and glyphosate is to eat organic (in the US) or bio (in Europe) foods. Aluminum hydroxide or salts should not be eaten or injected. Aluminum in foods is often very poorly absorbed, although eating Al3+ ions with a citrate or other chelators can increase absorption by as much as 100-fold. Tea, which is fairly rich in aluminum, should not be drunk with lemon juice. Baking powder almost always has aluminum in it. The usually poor absorption of aluminum in foods means that comparing these with injected aluminum hydroxide or aluminum salts can be very misleading. Environmental exposures to PCBs and PFAS are difficult for most people to assess, although making sure people have a very good source of drinking water may be essential. Because raising Nrf2 increases detoxification of the body from both carbon-containing toxicants and toxic metals, agents that raise Nrf2 should always be considered when one is trying to minimize chemical causation of ASDs, or obtain therapeutic improvement of individuals with ASDs. People have become more aware of phthalate toxicity, allowing us to avoid some common phthalate sources. Mercury and mercurials should be avoided wherever possible.

This discussion of ASD treatment and prevention is not intended to be a complete discussion, but rather as a start, to initiate a wider discussion.

IARC advised to revisit radiofrequency cancer risk

Apr 16, 2024 An Advisory Group has recommended that the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) should reassess the cancer risks associated with non-ionizing radiofrequency radiation with high priority. According to the summary issued last week in The Lancet Oncology, the group suggests that the new evaluation should take place in latter half of 5-year period (2025–2029) due to new human cancer and animal cancer evidence to warrant re-evaluation of the classification. Besides radiofrequency fields, several other agents were recommended for revisit, e.g., hair coloring products, acrylamide or paracetamol.

A detailed report of the advisory committee will be published subsequently.

STEP BY STEP RECOGNITION OF EHS IN THE NETHERLANDS

SOURCE ARTICLE : EUROPEANS FOR SAFE CONNECTIONS

Step by step recognition of EHS in the Netherlands

Step by step recognition of EHS in the Netherlands

Last year, the Dutch EHS foundation, Stichting EHS, has achieved a big success towards recognition of EHS as a disability. After several discussions with various official bodies to explore the possibility of declaring the UN Convention on Disability applicable to people with EHS the message is clear: In the Netherlands EHS officially is a disability.

How can this recognition be of help to people with EHS?
For some time now, Stichting EHS has been working step by step to get parties behind the idea that the UN Convention on Disability applies for people with EHS. After our first fruitful meetings with the Ministry of Health, also the Dutch umbrella organisation for people with disabilities, Ieder(in), confirmed to us that people with EHS are covered by the UN Convention on Disability – and accepted Stichting EHS as a member. Read more here.

Another important result was the confirmation to us by the Dutch Institute for Human Rights that people with EHS are covered by the UN Convention on Disability. This institute monitors compliance with the convention. To give a picture of the extent and severity of the EHS problem, we called on the Dutch electro-sensitive people to report to the same. The institute sent comprehensive responses to all those who filed reports. Reporting for Dutch people is still possible.

A new law on equal treatment of people with disabilities or chronic illnesses
In the Netherlands, the UN Convention on Disability has been translated into the Equal Treatment on the Grounds of Disability or Chronic Illness Act (Wgbh/cz). This law stipulates that people with a disability or chronic illness should be able to participate in society like everyone else – at school, at work, on public transport and in their leisure time. Schools, workplaces, shops and companies must ensure full access for all. There is a ban on discrimination and an obligation to make an adaptation. People with disabilities can ask for an adaptation for their own situation. This adaptation must then be proportional.

What does this mean for electro-sensitive people?
The recognition by the Dutch Human Rights Institute means that people with EHS can demand application of the Equal Treatment on the Grounds of Disability or Chronic Illness Act. In other words: if you feel you cannot participate in society because of your electro-sensitivity, you can ask for adjustments by invoking this law.

For example, if you suffer from radiation at work and cannot get a suitable workplace, you can ask for adjustments based on this law, and the same applies if you need to go to a hospital, but cannot because of too much radiation. But that does not mean you will always get what you ask for. The request for an effective adjustment may be rejected if the adjustment is disproportionately burdensome. This can happen, for instance, if the adjustments cost a lot of money or effort, create an unsafe situation or are impossible to carry out.

In case of discrimination, complain to the Institute
If a request for adaptation is refused, the Human Rights Institute can look into whether the refusal of the adaptation was justified. If you feel you are discriminated against as an electro-sensitive person, you can request an assessment by the institute via a complaint form. Then you enter a formal complaints procedure that always involves the other party, such as for instance your employer.

If you are considering filing a complaint, because you consider it promising and your situation is well documented, we at Stichting EHS would like to ask you to contact us at . You will then be directed to an external expert who can look into the probability of success of the complaint and advise you on a possible follow-up. If you are already in a conflict with, for example, your employer and are receiving legal aid, we advise you to pass on the information in this message to your legal aid provider.

Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport
After acknowledgement by the Human Rights Institute, Stichting EHS has again been in contact with the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. This Ministry, coordinator regarding the UN Convention on Disability, reported the following to us:

“We concur with the findings from your discussions with Ieder(in) and the Human Rights Institute that people with EHS have the right to accessibility and inclusion just like everyone else.”

Further it was mentioned that each ministry is itself responsible for accessible and inclusive policies on specific issues. This means that the Ministry of Health directs us to other ministries on issues within their remit.

Where do we stand now?
Stichting EHS has already achieved a lot in the past year. Ieder(in) as well as the Human Rights Institute and the Ministry of Health have indicated that people with EHS are covered by the UN Convention on Disability. All these organisations can take our interests on board. That is a huge gain.

On the other hand, a lot still needs to be done. The UN Convention and the Wgbh/cz certainly offer opportunities for success. But true inclusion for people with EHS will have to be achieved step by step. That is also the intention of the UN Convention on Disability: step by step increasing accessibility for disabled and chronically ill people.

How do we move forward?
Both Stichting EHS and individuals can play a role in achieving true inclusion of people with EHS. Electrosensitive people themselves can make requests for adjustments related to their own situation, and if necessary file complaints with the Human Rights Institute in the Netherlands. There may be court cases. Then case law will be built up and that can contribute to the overall EHS interest. In other words: these rights need to be claimed on an individual level before it can become general practise.

Stichting EHS will mainly focus on general issues. We will address the government, (interest) organisations and possibly specific individual cases. We will publish important information on our website. Electrosensitive people can then use this information for their individual requests for adjustments.

In summary, we have new and important tools in our hands with the UN Convention on Disability, but improvement in our situation must be built from scratch. There is much work to be done. Stichting EHS will continue to work on this in the time to come. We will keep you informed via the website. And should you have any important experiences: please report them to us.

Why did NIH abruptly halt research on the harms of cell phone radiation? – Dr Devra Davis

Source Article: The HIll

by Devra Davis, Opinion Contributor – 02/01/24 8:00 AM ET

In a shocking reversal, the National Toxicology Program (NTP) of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences has quietly disclosed that it will stop studying the biological or environmental impacts of cell phone radiofrequency radiation.

This decision comes despite results from the program’s carefully engineered and reviewed decade-long $30 million animal studies that found cancer, heart damage and DNA damage associated with exposure to cell phone radiofrequency radiation at levels comparable to those experienced by Americans today.

The sudden end of civilian government efforts to study potential health impacts of wireless radiation constitutes a glaring abdication of responsibility. In contrast, the U.S. Department of Defense continues to study this problem…..

The many different voices speaking into the current narrative surrounding the health effects of 5G technologies necessitate an exploration of the background of the various published author-spokespersons and their potential motives. This has been attempted recently by de Vocht and Albers. However, that opinion piece used a narrow investigative lens, resulting in an undermining of both the rationality of the concerned general public and the motives of specific researchers. At the same time, biases, conflicts of interest, and flaws found in “independent” reviews were not considered. To address these oversights, an evidence-based appraisal of public opinion and the scientific caliber of authors involved in the 5G health discussion is warranted. Subsequently, this review article presents an analysis of the available Australian data representing public voices, while also conducting a broader investigation of the level of expertise of recent author-spokespersons based on their experience as scientists, particularly in the area of health effects of radiofrequency electromagnetic fields. This review thus attempts to more clearly illustrate for the reader the caliber and motives of the voices speaking into the 5G narrative. The article concludes with a set of questions that need to be answered to enable scientists to advise policy makers more effectively on matters of 5G and public health.
