Letter sent to GP & Medical Practice

The following is a detailed and informative letter sent by a patient to their GP and Medical Practice to help them understand EHS/EMR-S which is affecting more and more people, It includes up to date scientific studies and supporting organisations.

To : XXX Medical Practice

Dear Drs, Nursing and Administrative Staff,

I am writing to update you on a few developments regarding wireless radiation and its recognition as harmful to health in medical research and courts of law. Please can you disseminate this information to staff, and discuss with other medical colleagues at any opportunity that arises because wireless radiation is negatively impacting us all whether we are conscious of it or not – thank you.

1. An ultrasound study 1 has shown that cellphone radiation causes red blood cells to clump together (rouleaux formation) when an active cellphone is placed against the skin:

“This in vivo effect … can impact oxygen delivery to the body … which could affect metabolism, cause blood flow to slow down leading to blockages in small blood vessels” even “contribute to strokes or heart problems,   increase risk of serious complications from blood clots for those with diabetes.

… Rouleaux formation has been associated with infectious & inflammatory processes, connective tissue   diseases and some forms of cancer. Radio Frequency radiation exposure from cellphones, and likely other technologies utilizing wireless communication can now be added to the list of things that can cause this abnormality of blood.”

[The mobile was on but not on an active call in which instance the radiation exposure would be expected to be higher].

Dr Brown’s research (in collaboration with the Environmental Health Trust) is now comparing groups of people who experience symptoms of ‘EMR Syndrome’ (formerly called Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity Syndrome) with groups who do not experience these symptoms:

“Preliminary results have shown blood cell clumping … from cell phone exposure is occurring in both groups, but with a higher rate amongst the EMR-S population. We are hopeful this path may lead to identifying a biomarker for people who suffer from EMR-S.”

2. EMR Syndrome

In 2025, the ‘OneName Project’2 announced ‘EMR Syndrome’ 2 as “the unifying name for those sickened by wireless radiation.” 3 Previously, those who experienced negative health effects faced challenges advocating for themselves and educating others because there was no single, descriptive and easily understood term for the condition.

Terms used included Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity, Microwave Syndrome, Havana Syndrome and Intolerance of Electromagnetic Field Syndrome. “Some countries still use these terms for medical diagnosis.” 3

Today, EMR-S is so prevalent one umbrella entity – The International EMF Alliance 4 has over 120 organizations and charities supporting sufferers across more than 20 countries.

3. ‘1 in 8 U.S. Adults say wireless radiation is causing health issues’ 3

Results of surveys published in Next Research 5 have revealed that “over 26 million adults in the U.S., Australia and Canada are experiencing health problems due to wireless radiation exposure” including around cell towers, cellphones and wireless routers.

Reporting on the Surveys, Suzanne Burdick stated:

“The authors noted that common symptoms include headaches, dizziness, cardiovascular problems, tinnitus,      difficulty concentrating, nervous system effects, irritability, insomnia, fatigue, burning face, nausea and   dysesthesia.” 3

One of the Report’s authors, Professor Anne Steinmann, said that “Sensitivity to wireless radiation – now called EMR Syndrome – is a diagnosable medical condition.”  3

The Surveys show that 10.1% U.S. Americans; 14.9% Australians; 5.0% Canadians;

have been medically assessed as being sensitive to wireless radiation.

“Of those who reported health effects from wireless radiation … roughly 80% were chemically sensitive, over 70% had asthma or an asthma-related condition, over 80% had autism, and over 80% had fragrance sensitivity.” Julie McCredden (lead author) said that “wireless radiation causes oxidative stress, which underlies conditions such as inflammation, weight gain, depression, Alzheimers Disease, diabetes, heart disease, & autoimmune disease.” 5

4. EMR-S Personal stories https://www.emrsyndrome.org/

It is easy to lose sight of people behind statistics.

The accounts of 4 people are attached; their lives have not only been derailed, they have in a sense been ‘lost’. As you will see, EMR-S is no respecter of age, sex or profession.

5. Supreme Court of Canada validates Phonegate class action against Apple and Samsung (31/3/26) 6a

In 2019, a Chicago Tribune article by a Pulitzer prize-winning journalist revealed that “Independent tests … for several i-Phone and Samsung Galaxy models far exceeded legal limits for Specific Absorption Rate” – the allowable amount of radiation permitted to be absorbed into the human body. The investigator working with French GP Marc Arazi and his NGO ‘Phonegate’, found “systemic software fraud (proximity sensor manipulation): radiation measurements jumped 300% to 400% when moving from the 5mm test distance to the real-world usage distance of 2mm.”

A subsequent class action was brought by Phonegate, and following a Supreme Court of Canada final ruling, is now proceeding preventing any appeals by Apple and Samsung from being heard.7

Phonegate is also taking legal action before the General Court of the EU regarding the non-compliance of Apple’s i-Phone 12. 6b

Phonegate has succeeded in having over 60 different mobile phone models removed from the French market for exceeding the legal SAR value. 6c France (unlike Ireland) has a government department that measures radiation levels of wireless devices post coming to market. Dr Arazi has recently stated that there is in fact no safe SAR value.

5. Spanish disability groups support those with EMR-Syndrome   …

‘Green Paper: Workplace Adaptations for People with MCS and EHS’  is “a guide that establishes technical, health & legal criteria to facilitate the inclusion of people affected … in the workforce.” 7

The publication received support from the Spanish Confederation of People with Disabilities and other disability organizations. 9 The guide will be publicly launched at an international Conference on June 24th – ‘International Day Against Electromagnetic Pollution.’

6. EMR Syndrome Alliance  – their website offers guidance to healthcare providers. 8

“The current mindset that we have of thinking that the electromagnetic environment is irrelevant to health has to change. There is so much science and evidence to show this is simply not the case, including the rise of EMR Syndrome.”                  Dr Sharon Goldberg 3

Finally, I want to say that I am very happy to clarify or provide additional information on EMR-S if it would be helpful. I recently made submissions to two Government public consultations: the Cost of Disability Payments; and ‘Healthy Ireland’. I addressed the cost to human health of radiation exposure from wireless devices.  I also flagged the Department of Health’s dereliction of duty in relinquishing responsibility for health harms from wireless exposure to the Department of Communication; and the ensuing conflict of interest, since the DoC’s primary concern is increasing profits from mobile phone operator licence fees and spectrum sales and not human health.

For those who remain disbelieving of harmful health effects from wifi, mobile phones, bluetooth, GPS and other favourite wireless devices, or who believe this is all ‘new’ technologies (and, therefore, we cannot know how they are impacting us), I refer you to a meta-study carried out over 50 years ago.

In 1971, Lt Colonel Zorach Glaser working for the U.S. Naval Medical Research Institute “reviewed the global science on microwave radiation from wireless signals. “He found 2,311 studies that link low-intensity microwave signals and other EMR with biological impacts.”

The authors of ‘Safety of Wireless Technologies: The Scientific View’ 9 summarize findings:

“The paper cites 132 different biological impacts, symptoms and diseases associated with wireless exposures. The majority of studies examined microwave signals in the 1 to 4 gigahertz (GHz) range at low intensities. These types of wireless exposures are virtually identical with those from modern devices and wireless sources such as cell phones, WiFi, Bluetooth, smart meters, GPS, wearables, and wireless infrastructure.”

          and

“Of the 36 chronic diseases and conditions that more than doubled (1990-2015), the U.S. Navy study warned us of the connection between wireless radiation and twenty-three of those chronic diseases…”

The recommended ‘safe’ exposure limits for wireless radiation (non-ionising) in Ireland, to this day, are based on whether there is a ‘heating effect’ from exposure and not biological harms.

I have not received any acknowledgement of my previous ‘updates’. I very much hope to this time, in particular confirmation that colleagues have been informed and measures considered to reduce environmental radiation at the medical practice for the sake of staff and patients.

Yours respectfully

XXXXX
